Four years ago when we got home from the hospital after type 1 diagnosis we had forgotten most of what we’d been taught. Thrown into the fire, we slowly figured out some things.

But the first time I had to insert the cannula I forgot to take off the plastic cover on the needle. A few expletives later we had it sorted and the cannula was in.

Eventually, you learn some things and feel more confident.
