Every type 1 we speak to this week is talking about how their blood sugars are going up and they can’t get them down without worrying about low blood sugars. And we always forget that this happens every autumn and spring.

Our kid had three amazing days where he was hardly out of our target range. A first for us. And now we can’t seem to get him back down.

So. What that means is, don’t forget the weather plays on your blood sugars. We’re giving extra insulin to drive it down and testing more often to catch hypos.

Whatever your hyper strategies are, best put them to use. And don’t worry if blood sugar levels are a little surprising this time of year. Don’t have a hyper strategy? Get one. Talk to your consultant or your DSN to build one into your diabetes care plan.
